FAQ

Learn how Reel Star Audio can help your business, promote your talent

and improve your knowledge and technical competency.

  • What is the process of making a reel like?

  1. First we have a consultation to gauge exactly what kind of reel we're after, what industries you work in, where your strengths lie in terms of your range and the clients you work with.

  2. Scripting will typically take 1-2 days to write, edit and for you to review them and gives your notes.

  3. When you're happy with the scripts we meet again online or in person to record the scripts. Either myself, Henry or your chosen Vocal Coach may direct the session either from your home studio over Zoom, or here in my studio in Bucks.

  4. Designing & editing the super-cut should take no more than 48hrs after the recordings have been delivered and signed off.

  5. We then meet a final time to finalize the order of the reel and to take any feedback you have. Here we may also decide to re-record a performance or section of a performance to get it where it needs to be, but this is isn't always necessary and it's quick if needed.

  6. Delivery of the masters should be the same day as the final notes.

  • Who writes the scripts?

I write all the scripts myself, each tailored to your specific voice, engineered to show off your range and designed to attracted the kind of clients you want to work with. As a life-long poet I take pride in the written word, humanity's greatest invention. I like to tell a story with every clip and being in control of the script, I get to more homogeneously marry the combination of spoken word, music and effects. But of course you also have a huge hand in both the concocting and editing of the scripts as we collaborate together from start to finish.

  • What industries do you work in?

I've worked in many different industries under the banner of the the Audio Department. I've worked in Live music and Radio when I was a teen, corporate events as well as both location recording and post-production on short films and commercials in my early 20's and later in Film and TV for the likes of the BBC, Netflix, Sky+ and many more. I still work in film in my spare time both location and post sound, but my full-time focus is in the wonderful company of Voice Artists.

  • Do I have to come in person?

I'm proud to say I have clients both sides of the pond, all over Europe and even a few from India too. You don't have to meet with me in person, we can chat on Zoom or any online platform you prefer. Use the link at the top of the page to book a free Zoom session with me now!

  • What happens in the free consultation?

Use our free session however you'd like, ask me about your setup, your booth, your DAW or how to EQ. I've designed studios for clients in the past, gone gear shopping with them and everything between. If you just need a chat with a professional Audio Engineer, here I am.

  • Why should I work with Reel Star Audio?

Great question, well asked, love your shoes. So I've shot, edited and mixed live ads for TV, designed and edited sound for feature films and I've been recording and editing voice since I was 15 years old. However, I think the key to a great result in my line of work has less to do with technical competency than it does with quality collaboration and communication. Especially when it comes to Demo Reels, the working professional's calling card.
